About

Built around a single idea: the future of the past. The electric piano is the one fixed point.

It's philosophical ambient, played on the electric piano, and if I'm honest it's a diary about time that I decided to score instead of write.

The records — “Masks of the Night”, “Mystic Walk”, “Not Young Not Old”, “The Future of the Past”, “The Past of the Future” and more — are entries, really. One continuous notebook.

A few beliefs

Live — intimate shows

Every so often I play somewhere tiny around the UK — a back room, a little hall, once a kitchen. Never big, never really advertised. If you'd host one, message me.

Booking enquiries

Music for one listener at a time.

Questions

Why is it all so… slow?
Because philosophical ambient isn't trying to win the room. It's paradox, mostly — made to sit underneath a moment rather than interrupt it.
Vinyl / physical?
Nothing pressed at the moment. If that changes it'll be announced here first.
Do you play live?
Rarely, and only in intimate rooms. If you run a small space and want to enquire, get in touch — nothing is scheduled unless it's listed here.

How to listen

No shuffle. It's an album, not a playlist.

Journal

Behind “Masks of the Night”

I didn't plan “Masks of the Night”. It arrived as one image of paradox I couldn't put down and asked to be finished.

It is philosophical ambient, so nothing hurries — the electric piano is allowed to just sit in the room.

Play it low. It was made low.

Where “Not Young Not Old” came from

“Not Young Not Old” came from the idea of time, and then refused to leave.

I kept the takes that sounded like weather and cut the rest.

I hope it meets you somewhere quiet.

On “Mystic Walk”

I didn't plan “Mystic Walk”. It arrived as a long look at motion and asked to be finished.

I kept the takes that sounded like weather and cut the rest.

It isn't a message — it's company for a particular hour.

How it gets made

The method is dull and I'm proud of it — a electric piano, a quiet room, the delete key.

Most of a session ends up deleted. What survives is the piece.

Owed to Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, Ludovico's quiet school. The rest I took by accident.

Why I keep returning to motion

Lately everything I write bends back toward motion.

The electric piano found the shape before I did; I stayed out of the way.

That is all it wants to be.
